About the NHS App
The NHS App is available for you to request repeat prescriptions or view your medical record on the internet.
Being able to view your record online could help you to manage your medical conditions. It also means that you have access from anywhere in the world should you require medical treatment whilst on holiday. The service is available at all times and can be accessed from any computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
The NHS App contains access to other services including:
- booking and managing appointments
- getting health information and advice
- viewing your health record securely
- viewing your NHS number
We are encouraging all of our patients to use the NHS app to request their medication. If you are not an online user please drop off a written request at your local practice.
To sign up you will need to create an NHS account. This can be done on the app after it has been downloaded or by pressing the above button labeled “Access your NHS services”. There is no download necessary as patients can access their services through their internet browser, although users may want to download the NHS App on to their smartphone or tablet for convenience.
Once you have registered for the NHS app, you will need to link it to your GP practice. To do this you will need to provide the app some additional information such as postcode and the name of your GP practice.
After this you will be able to order your medication through the app. To do this, you’ll need to select the “order repeat prescriptions” option on the home screen of the app. You will be able to specify where you want to collect your medication from e.g your local pharmacy.
